One day, in around 9th grade, I was learning from my dad about finance. We were talking about the income curve, and how people who had learning or access to money early in their life had a much higher chance of being well off in the future. I thought to myself, I certainly can't give money to every kid out there to make them more successful, that just doesn't make sense. However, I can do the next best thing, and teach them about money, and how to handle it.
Luckily, my school, Design Tech High School, allows students to teach courses of their own, during a time block four times a year called intersession. I decided to design a finance course and try to teach a two-week intersession.
I taught my course in May and June 2019 and was the first student to teach a for-credit intersession course at Design Tech. It was a great experience and my students did great!
